As a travel agent many times the topic of cruising comes up and the first thing that most people unfamiliar with cruising say are, "There is no way I can afford a cruise." The fact of the matter is you really can! Yes, average families cannot afford to dish out a payment in full in today's society, its good thing cruise lines don’t require you to do so and here's how.

Most cruise lines when booking a cruise give you a "Payment Plan" or "Smart Pay" option. What that means is that you book your cruise and usually put down a manageable deposit (anywhere from $50 per person to $100-$300 for a full cabin). After the deposit they make a payment plan that is manageable for you. Carnival Cruise Lines has an Easy Pay option that you can utilize which breaks up the remaining balance into 3-4 easy monthly payments which are auto drafted from a credit or debit card. Most other cruise lines including Royal Caribbean or Norwegian will take as many payments as you can manage, so long as the balance due is paid in full 75-90 days before your cruise sets sail.

Taking your family or spouse on that next vacation doesn't have to break the bank. Cruising is the most popular vacation (and for good reason) that I help families with on a daily basis. If you don't believe me, reach out to a travel agent and get a free quote on your next family cruise. You go to a doctor when you're sick and a lawyer when you need medical advise so why not reach out to someone who eats, lives, and breathes cruises for a living? I'm certain that there are options to fit every budget no matter how big or small.
